A South Derbyshire engineering specialist has begun a search for four new apprentices keen to forge a career working with its world-class manufacturing technologies.

The ever-expanding Carfulan Group is looking to identify enthusiastic candidates able to work alongside its team of vastly experienced professionals to support customers in real-world scenarios.

Those successfully completing the four-year Advanced Level Apprenticeship course can expect to be offered a permanent role within the group’s after-sales engineering team, which is dedicated to delivering an unrivalled level of service to the UK manufacturing market.

Carfulan Group Managing Director Chris Fulton said: “Our business model is unique in that we provide technologies that optimise performance at every stage of the manufacturing process, empowering businesses across sectors like aerospace, automotive, medical, defence and consumer goods to make the best products they possibly can, in the most efficient way available.

“Since 2013, our workforce has more than doubled and there are now more than 700 group customers in the portfolio.

“We pride ourselves on providing each and every one of them with a level of service that far exceeds expectations, and we’re looking for people who share that passion for excellence.”

Based in Foston, the Carfulan Group is looking for proactive, self-motivated and resilient individuals who are punctual, methodical and display excellent attention to detail.

They must have five GCSEs at grades A* to C (or level nine to 4), including maths and English, with some engineering background and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

The apprentices will be paid an annual wage of between £12,000 and £18,000.

Across four divisions – OGP UK, SYS Systems, ZOLLER UK and VICIVISION UK – the Carfulan Group’s work covers supplying and servicing for multi-sensor inspection equipment, 3D printing and tool pre-setting and measurement, as well as turned-part measurement solutions.

It counts internationally renowned manufacturing companies among its clients and has enjoyed huge growth over the past decade, now employing around 50 people.

It was named in the London Stock Exchange’s ‘1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2018’ report, recognising it as one of the nation’s most outstanding small to medium-sized businesses.
